Hennie is a dedicated women’s health advocate, educator and coach. As a licensed physical therapist in British Columbia, Canada, she specializes in pelvic floor health, postpartum recovery, and post-surgical rehabilitation. Having navigated through postpartum exhaustion, persistent pain, and pelvic floor challenges, she has personally experienced the transformative power of self-awareness, proactive interventions and a comprehensive approach to healing that goes beyond symptom management.
Hennie began her career as a physical therapist in 2010, working in a private clinic in Vancouver where she provided care for individuals with chronic pain, overuse injuries and post-surgical rehabilitation. She advanced her clinical expertise at Richmond Hospital, where she served in diverse settings including acute care, residential care, palliative care, and community health. This breadth of experience laid a strong foundation for her holistic and compassionate approach to patient care.
Hennie is certified in acupuncture with Acupuncture Canada and is also a Gokavi Transverse Technique (GTT) advanced dry needling practitioner. She then completed her pelvic floor therapy training at BC Women’s Hospital in 2013. Committed to deepening her expertise in Women’s Health, she pursued further development in Mindfulness-Based Chronic Pain Relief Therapy, Women’s Cancer Rehabilitation, and has integrated Arvigo® Abdominal Therapy into her pelvic health practice.
She recognizes the negative impact of chronic stress and inactivity on women’s health and is committed to guiding women toward lifestyle and mindful practices. Combining 15 years of clinical expertise in physical therapy with her experience in postpartum healing, Hennie is on a mission to bridge the knowledge gap in pelvic health and postpartum recovery, laying the foundation for lasting health and vitality in mothers.
She empowers professional working mothers to thrive in motherhood and careers, without sacrificing their well-being or precious family moments. Rooted in the biopsychosocial model of care, Hennie’s holistic approach integrates evidence-based interventions and self-management strategies as first-line therapy for helping women regain control of their health. Her work extends beyond postpartum recovery, supporting women through their perimenopausal years and beyond, fostering lifelong implementation toward resilience.
Hennie lives in Richmond, BC, with her husband, two children and two cats, balancing her passion for women’s wellness with the joy of family life.

My Story
Yes, it was a miracle.
I cannot deny that.
I never thought I would become a mom, and I did.
Five years later, I never thought I would go through pregnancy and postpartum the second time around, and I did it again.
As a physio, people think that I must be fit and exercise all the time.
It is quite the opposite for me.
I like to treat patients and help others get well. To me, that is the most rewarding job that I always dream to have.
I always like to learn how the human body functions and help others rehab their bodies post surgeries.
The biggest challenge was applying what I learned to my own body. When I received my training as a pelvic floor physiotherapist, at BC Women’s Hospital in 2013, I never thought I became pregnant and needed rehab shortly after!
I was the first patient who needed to be treated with my own pelvic floor rehab traininafter giving birth in Summer 2014!
I never thought I would be pregnant again…BUT having my daughter turned my life completely around!
My story, my pain, my health conditions, my own rehab NOW turns it into my services for YOU, my dear fellow sisters and friends!
That is why I said it is a miracle, but it is possible!
Sometimes our pain seems unbearable, seems lasting forever. We have too much on our plates. Our kids, our family, our jobs all demands our time and attention over self care. Yes, I know, because I am a working mom of 2.
Trust me, bit by bit, little by little, if we attend to what our body needs, we can transform our pain to our resilience!
From my weekly call with my coach, I learned that I have a “mechanic” character. I have “steel” energy that makes me a deep thinker, analyzer and planner. Because of my character and strength, I listen and reflect well to my patients’ needs. I help you listen to your inner self, use your pain to radiate your resilience!
I’m ready to give this energy back to YOU and to the divine universe!
