Schedule your daily success or Accept daily defeat

As a postpartum mom, your days are a blur of feedings, diaper changes, and sleepless nights. You’re navigating the physical and emotional rollercoaster of recovery while trying to be present for your baby and family. It’s overwhelming, I know. But here’s the thing—your healing matters just as much as everything else on your to-do list.

Rebuilding your strength, reclaiming your pelvic health, and feeling good in your body again starts with small, daily habits. And the best part? These habits don’t have to take hours—they just need to be consistent and intentional.

For moms, especially those managing the demands of motherhood while navigating postpartum recovery, it can feel like there’s never enough time for yourself. But the truth is, your daily habits determine your success, whether you’re dealing with leaky bladders, persistent pain, or weak core strength. If we are creatures of habit, then why not choose habits that will nourish your body, mind, and spirit?

Being consistent in your wellness habits is key to reclaiming your pelvic health and rebuilding your strength, and that starts with setting non-negotiable habits for your physical recovery.

Your Habits Rule You

In those quiet moments, when you find yourself reaching for comfort food or putting off a workout, remember this: your habits are driving your results. If you’re feeling stuck, it might be time to evaluate whether your current habits are serving you. While it may seem easier to rest on the couch than to fit in a 10-minute pelvic floor exercise, think about the long-term payoff of consistency. The truth is, you can make small, intentional changes that can help you feel stronger, more confident, and at peace with your body again.

What Are Your Non-Negotiables?

As a busy mom, you know time is precious, but it’s also essential to make your wellness a non-negotiable. Whether it’s scheduling a few minutes of deep breathing, a core-strengthening exercise, or a short walk to help your recovery, these small moments matter. By turning these into non-negotiables, you’re showing up for yourself – and when you show up for yourself, you're also showing up better for your family.

Gotta Cancel?

We’ve all had those days where something comes up and it’s easy to push exercise or self-care to the side. But when you have to cancel on yourself, challenge yourself to pause and really consider why. Could you find time while your kids are playing, or squeeze in a few minutes while waiting for the laundry to finish? Even small moments count. These habits don’t have to take hours. They just need to be intentional and consistent.

A Final Thought on Exercise...

The best time to exercise is when you’ll actually do it. If you’re a morning person, set your alarm 15 minutes earlier for a quick stretch or core exercise. If evenings are more your speed, schedule a short workout when the kids are winding down. The key is to make it fit into your day, no excuses.

Remember, it’s not about perfection, it’s about progress. Take ownership of your recovery, and in turn, you’ll be reclaiming your strength and vitality each day. Make your daily success a non-negotiable habit, and soon you’ll be amazed at how far you’ve come on your journey back to feeling like yourself again.
