Hennie is a dedicated women’s health advocate, physical therapist and coach. She is on a mission to empower women to overcome chronic pain, inactivity, core & pelvic health challenges, enabling them to flourish with vitality and resilience.
Over the past 15 years as a physical therapist and 12 years as a full-time professional working mother, she has developed a special interest in holistic pelvic health and post-surgical rehabilitation. Having navigated through postpartum pelvic health challenges, she has personally experienced the transformative power of self-awareness, proactive interventions and a comprehensive approach to healing that goes beyond symptom management.
Hennie began her career as a physical therapist in 2010, working in a private clinic in Vancouver where she provided care for individuals with chronic pain, overuse injuries and post-surgical rehabilitation. She advanced her clinical expertise at Richmond Hospital, where she served in diverse settings, including acute care, residential care, palliative care, and community health. This breadth of experience laid a strong foundation for her holistic and compassionate approach to patient care.
Hennie is certified in acupuncture with Acupuncture Canada and is also a Gokavi Transverse Technique (GTT) advanced dry needling practitioner. She then completed her pelvic floor therapy training at BC Women’s Hospital in 2013. Committed to deepening her expertise in Women’s Health, she pursued further development in Mindfulness-Based Chronic Pain Relief Therapy, Women’s Cancer Rehabilitation, and has integrated Arvigo® Abdominal Therapy into her pelvic health practice.
She recognizes the negative impact of chronic stress and inactivity on women’s health and is committed to guiding women toward lifestyle and mindful practices. Combining 15 years of clinical expertise in physical therapy with her experience in postpartum healing, Hennie is on a mission to bridge the knowledge gap in women's and pelvic health, laying the foundation for lasting health and vitality.
She empowers working mothers to thrive in both motherhood and their careers, without sacrificing their well-being or precious family moments. Rooted in the biopsychosocial model of care, Hennie’s holistic approach integrates evidence-based interventions and self-management strategies as first-line therapy for helping women regain control of their health. Her work extends beyond postpartum recovery, supporting women through their perimenopausal years and beyond, fostering lifelong implementation toward resilience.
Hennie lives in Richmond, BC, with her husband, two children and two cats, balancing her passion for women’s wellness with the joy of family life.
My Transformation from Vulnerability to Vitality
I couldn’t deny it: becoming a mom changed everything.
As a physical therapist who studied women's health and has worked across multiple rehab settings, people assumed I’d sail through motherhood.
They pictured a fit, always-active clinician. The reality was messier.
In my healing journeys, I lived with constant exhaustion, disrupted sleep, and persistent low-back pain. My core felt fragile; I noticed leaks when I laughed, sneezed, or jumped, and even simple tasks, such as picking up objects from the floor or carrying groceries, left me guarded and worried. Balancing client care, child care, sleepless nights, and the invisible weight of motherhood quietly depleted me. I poured myself into caring for others and didn’t see that I was running on empty.
On a busy work day, my heart was racing, and my body was audibly screaming for rest. That moment shook me: how could I expect my patients to prioritize health if I hadn’t modelled it myself? That humbling wake-up forced change.
I returned to the fundamentals I teach: rebuilding breath and core connection, tending to my belly, practicing mindfulness, and addressing movement patterns that contribute to healing and restoration. I created tiny, consistent habits that actually fit into a busy life. I also learned to let go of guilt when I prioritized myself.
Through my own recovery, I saw that pelvic symptoms were often tied to chronic stress, unprocessed emotions, and a nervous system stuck in survival mode. This understanding is what grounded my work in trauma-informed care — acknowledging that healing isn’t only physical but deeply connected to safety, trust, and self-compassion. It’s why my practice now supports women holistically, far beyond pelvic floor retraining alone.
Healing wasn’t instant, but it was real. My back pain eased, my core felt more solid, and the embarrassment and fear around leaking faded as I gained practical tools and confidence. More than fitness, I found alignment between what I preach and how I live.
The result was transformative. My back pain began to ease, my leaks reduced, and my core felt stronger and more reliable. More than that, my mind felt clearer, my energy returned, and I reconnected with a version of myself I thought I had lost.
Postpartum is messy. It is one of the most vulnerable times in a woman’s life. Applying what I knew to my own healing was challenging, but also the most beautiful and rewarding experience.
My story, my pain, my struggle, and my healing have now become my service to YOU, my fellow sisters and friends. That is why I call this a miracle. Because it is possible, bit by bit, little by little, if we listen to what our body truly needs, we can transform our pain into resilience.
I transformed my life, and now my passion is to see you transform yours.
My “mechanic” character and “steel” energy make me a deep thinker, analyzer, and planner. I will show you how to take your pain and turn it into strength—how to use your challenges as the very thing that builds your resilience.
I am ready to return this energy to YOU and the divine universe. And I would be honoured to walk beside you on your journey to health and wellness.
Today,
I have turned my personal journey into my professional mission: to educate and empower women on active aging, stress and pain management, pelvic health, self-care and overall wellness through every stage of life.
Drawing on my clinical experience as a physical therapist across multiple rehab settings and my perspective as a busy professional working mother, I developed the 21-Day Whole Life Wellness Reset and the Move to Resilience Pelvic Health Transformation Program.
These programs provide a structured roadmap to help women overcome health challenges, restore function, and reclaim confidence — from postpartum through perimenopause, midlife, and beyond. My goal is to help women build resilience, strengthen their bodies, and navigate health changes with knowledge, support, and confidence.
I am excited to share evidence-informed strategies, practical self-care guidance, and encouragement for women to move, thrive, and flourish at every stage of life.
